Months of comparing online, then the ring is bought in person.
Jewelry sits awkwardly between local retail and e-commerce. The research happens online in enormous detail, the purchase usually happens across a counter, and custom work is a consultation. A site that only does one of the three loses the other two.
An engagement ring is researched for months online and bought in a room.
Three things that make this trade its own problem
The site has to survive months of comparing
Somebody shopping a setting will visit five or six times before they ever walk in. Thin collection pages and no education content mean they do that comparing on somebody else's site and buy there too.
Custom and repair are the margin and the hardest to show
A bespoke piece or a restoration is not a product grid. It needs the process, the consultation and the before-and-after, and most jeweler sites give the whole thing one paragraph and a phone number.
Bad photography reads as bad jewelry
In a category judged entirely on how something looks, a flat, badly lit stone tells the visitor the piece is cheap — whether it is or not, and whatever the copy says.
Where we would start
- Website DevelopmentCollection pages built to hold up to long comparison, plus a custom-design and repair path that books a consultation instead of pretending there is an add-to-cart button.→

- SEOCategory-and-city pages plus the buying-guide content — cuts, settings, metals, sizing — that earns the visit months before anybody is ready to spend anything.→

- Forms, Portals & AutomationsA custom-design and repair enquiry that captures the piece, the budget range, the timeframe and photographs of what they have already got in the drawer.→

- Email MarketingThe long follow-up across a considered purchase, plus anniversary and occasion timing, which this trade can predict better than almost any other business on this list.→

Local or national — where this one is actually decided
Local for the store and the appointment, with a national layer for anything you genuinely sell online. They are separate jobs, and both of them need building.
Where we have actually done this
Heirs 2 U is a DDD build. Their jewelry site came out of a one-page Wix build and went back up as a real multi-page site — services, exclusive design, a filterable gallery, an FAQ and a quote form that works without a backend.
