We did not outsource our own website.
The site you are reading right now was built in this office, on an engine we wrote ourselves. It is the only project on this page whose claims you can check line by line, right now, by closing the tab.
You get Joseph Deep — not a call center. The assistant answers at 2am; I answer the phone.

What was actually there
A twenty-page Wix site on which every single page was called blank-something. /blank-1. /blank-29. Not one real word in a single URL, which is about as bad as on-page search gets. Four of the twenty pages were completely empty and eight more were a headline and nothing else. That is the site we were asking businesses to judge us by, while telling them their own site was costing them work.
This site, frozen and photographed.
The same three widths we check every client site at. It is a capture rather than a window on purpose — a portfolio that changes when the work changes is not a record of anything.

Shown at about a quarter size — open the real site to read it.
↑ The one entry here on a real, indexed domain. Everything the page claims about it can be checked by closing this tab and opening the site.
This is a frozen capture from 25 August 2026, not a live window — so it shows what we delivered. See Deep Development and Design as it is today →
What we built
Not a website — an engine that builds websites, this one included. Which means the thing we sell and the thing we run are the same thing, and every rough edge in it is ours to feel first.
Eighty-six real pages where there were twenty blanks, every one of them at a URL that says what is on it. The old addresses all still resolve, so nothing anybody ever bookmarked is broken.
Every page is checked before it ships. Titles, descriptions, heading order, alt text, dead internal links, sideways scroll, tap targets — on every build, with the build refusing to finish rather than warning.
One file per service drives five things at once — the service page, its place in the menu, the footer, its own inquiry form and its branch of the contact wizard. They cannot fall out of step because there is only one of them.
Eight free tools that actually run, not gated PDFs. They are on the site because they were useful to us first.
Written to be quoted by an assistant, not only ranked by a search engine — structured data on every page and answers written answer-first, because that is the shape a machine lifts.
Why we built it this way
We were building it twice
The old workflow was to design in code, then rebuild the same thing inside a page editor. Every client site started by throwing away the version that already worked. One engine ended that, and it ended it for us before it ended it for anybody paying.
A checker beats an apology
A missing meta description or a link to a page that no longer exists is invisible until a client finds it. Making the build refuse to finish is the only version of that rule anybody actually follows.
We wanted to feel it first
Every awkward thing about this engine is something we hit on our own site before a client hit it on theirs. That is the entire argument for eating your own cooking, and it is the reason this page exists at all.
